TECHNOLOGY
In defense applications, the ability to capture detailed and accurate images is critical for surveillance, reconnaissance and target acquisition. Cameras operating within the visible (VIS, Visible Imaging Sensor) wavelength spectrum – from about 400 to 700 nanometers (nm) – are essential for these tasks because they provide the clearest and most accurate visual information under various environmental conditions.
Depending on the application and the customer requirements, Nedinsco’s defense cameras using VIS wavelengths are equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and optics to ensure high precision in image capture. Our cameras detect subtle differences in color and light, which can be crucial for identifying targets, distinguishing friend and foe, or analyzing terrain features.
Nedinsco’s defense cameras often incorporate state-of-the-art technologies such as multiple image enhancement algorithms and low-light performance enhancements. These features enable VIS wavelength cameras to deliver clear, detailed images even in difficult conditions such as low light, low contrast or rapid motion.
Visible Imaging Sensor cameras are an integral part of surveillance and reconnaissance operations. Mounted on naval vessels or ground vehicles, these cameras capture high-resolution video to enable military personnel to monitor areas of interest, track movement and gather intelligence. The ability to capture the full spectrum of visible light ensures that these cameras offer accurate color reproduction, which is essential for interpreting and analyzing the images.
In addition to their autonomous capabilities, Nedinsco cameras are often integrated with other sensors, to provide a complete picture of the environment. Image fusion can be applied to complete this multispectral approach, allowing operators to compare data and to improve overall situational awareness and e.g. enhance driver’s visibility.
